The most ethical and sustainable supplement for vegans is here

Earthseed Multivitamin fills nutritional gaps for vegans and is the first to use a compostable pill bottle

Two businesswomen from Boulder, Colorado have launched the first product in a new line of sustainable supplements designed for plant-based lifestyles

Earthseed gets rid of the traditional plastic pill bottle in favor of a compostable alternative, and their formulations use only ethically-sourced, vegan nutrients.

Hava Horowitz and Maria Cebrian created Earthseed: The Complete Multivitamin for Vegans, an all-in-one multivitamin that features nine essential nutrients notably absent from the vegan and vegetarian diet.

Earthseed has already been selected as a finalist for the Best New Supplements of 2020 and Best New Environmentally-Responsible Product by the Natural Products Expo's Nexty Awards, the most prestigious natural product industry awards.

“Every single element of Earthseed has been carefully engineered to give back to the Earth, rather than take from it,” shares Horowitz.

Earthseed sprouted from Horowitz’s desire to reduce the stress and waste created from her vegan supplementation routine.

“After going vegan, I experienced symptoms of nutrient deficiency. I started taking six supplements daily, but quickly felt stressed by all the pills I had to take and all the waste I was creating with my monthly supply of plastic pill bottles,” she said. “I recognized that the vegan lifestyle could be simplified with an all-in-one pill that was good for both me and the planet.”

“More and more people are exploring the plant-based lifestyle as a way to positively impact our planet and its inhabitants,” said Horowitz. “However, many struggle to healthfully make the switch to a plant-based lifestyle, as several essential nutrients are rarely available in plant-foods.”

In fact, studies have revealed that up to 92 percent of vegans experience nutrient deficiencies and are unable to get all the nutrients they need from diet alone, Horowitz said.

“While 86 percent of Americans take a supplement, 90 percent of those plastic pill bottles end up in landfills. With more and more people going vegan to reduce their impact on the environment, we were determined to make a product for the earth-conscious consumer,” said Cebrian.

All of Earthseed’s packaging, from the cellulose pill bottle, labels, tamper-proof seals, lidding, desiccants, and mailers are completely biodegradable.

“We’ve overcome many obstacles to build Earthseed, both in formulating an all-in-one product for vegans and sourcing only compostable materials for our packaging. We want to lead the way for the supplement industry to shift towards more sustainable products and packaging.” says Horowitz.

Over the past 14 months, Horowitz and Cebrian have worked with a team of doctors and scientists who specialize in plant-based nutrition and supplementation to create Earthseed's formula

The two businesswomen are committed to their product being completely GMO-free, gluten-free, allergen-free, and using organic ingredients where possible.

Each of Earthseed’s nine nutrients are found in their most ethical and bioavailable form. Highlights of the formula include Omega-3 oil with DHA and EPA that has been harvested from algae grown indoors without impact to marine life, Vitamin D3 sourced from lichen, and Vitamin C extracted from organic amla fruit.

“Earthseed does the hard work for you, so you don’t have to sacrifice your own health for that of the planet,” Cebrian states. “We put everything plant-based people struggle to get in an all-inclusive, vegan multivitamin packaged in a compostable pill bottle that replenishes them and our planet, every single day.

Earthseed is a subscription-based multivitamin for vegans, packaged in a compostable pill bottle. Included with the subscription is access to video courses and resources that support the plant-based lifestyle.
